About me
I have been qualified as a Surgeon with the Royal College of Surgeons since 1996 and have been employed as a Consultant since 2000. My area of surgical practice is solely limited to the hand and includes both emergency and elective surgery. My specific areas of interest and expertise is with base of thumb arthritis, scapholunate and triangular ligament reconstructive surgery for the wrist, duypytrens surgery including Collagenase injection therapy, carpal and cubital tunnel release, trigger finger surgery and ganglion excision.

My outcomes
Outcomes (self-reported)
I have audited my infection rates over two 1 year periods, and both rates are less than 1%.
I undertake appraisal in line with GMC recommendations; my patient satisfaction survey has shown 'excellent' responses to each domain in the survey.
I submit data to the national British Society for Surgery to the Hand database for patient outcomes. My results for base of thumb arthritis and cubital tunnel release are in the top 25% (thumb) and 50% (nerve release) of national outcome measures. Further audit of my practice at Sunderland Royal Hospital has shown excellent responses to surgery for carpal tunnel release and Duypytrens surgery comparable to peer surgical groups within the Trust.
