About me

I trained in Gastroenterology in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield before completing my training on the North West Thames London Training Rotation. During my training I spent 2 years working in the Hepatology and Liver Transplant Unit in Addenbrookjes Hospital, Cambridge. I spent 4 years undertaking research into the genetics of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Sheffield during which period I also wrote the British Society of Gastroenterology Guidelines for the Management of IBD. I have been a National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme accredited Colonoscopist since 2008 and am the Clinical Lead for The Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service at the East and North Herts NHS Trust. I have published papers in diverse areas of gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease, Coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, helicobactor pylori infection and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding. Last year I performed over 500 colonoscopies and 200 gastroscopies
