About me
Dr Waqar Ahmed is a very experienced Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist. He has been practicing as a consultant since 1996, with over 29 years of experience as a consultant in the NHS.
Dr Ahmed graduated with an MBBS from Khyber Medical College in 1981 before pursuing further specialist training. He went on to complete postgraduate qualifications including an MRCP and FRCP through the Royal College of Physicians, London, and MD from the University of Liverpool.
He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the British Medical Association, the British Society of Gastroenterology, and the British Association for the Study of the Liver.
He has been The Regional Advisor for The Royal College London from 2004 to 2010,Member of the Royal College Council 2008 to 2010 he is a MRCP PACES examiner.
Through his work, Dr Ahmed continues to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
Areas of interest
His main clinical interests lie in hepato-pancreatic-biliary disorders, acute and chronic liver disease, acid peptic disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, malabsorption and therapeutic endoscopy, where he has developed extensive expertise in both diagnostic and interventional procedures.
