About me
Mr O'Connor has been a Consultant specialising in Hip Replacement surgery for 16 years. He has a wide experience of Primary, Complex Primary and Revision Hip surgery.
His NHS practice is at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport in a busy Hip Replacement unit, which performs the second highest number of primary hip replacements in North West England and has low infection rates and low revision rates. He is the Orthopaedic Clinical Director at Stepping Hill Hospital. He is also a North West Regional clinical co-ordinator for the National Joint Registry.
He consults and has admitting rights at The Alexandra BMI Hospital in Cheadle and The Spire Hospital Manchester.
Areas of interest
Primary and Complex Primary Total Hip replacement.
Revision Total Hip Replacement surgery.
He has a particular interest in Hip replacement in the young adult and in patients who have suffered with childhood disorders affecting the hip such as CDH, SUFE and Perthes disease.
He also has an interest in the investigation and treatment of painful Metal on Metal hip replacements.
