About me
Neil Chapman is a consultant physician (in general & cardiovascular medicine and clinical pharmacology) at Imperial College Healthcare Trust (St Mary’s and Hammersmith Hospitals) and an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College, London.
He qualified from Cambridge University before training in hypertension, clinical pharmacology and general internal medicine in London and the University of Sydney, Australia.
He specialises in the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). He is a Fellow of the British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS) and Accredited Hypertension Specialist of the European Society of Hypertension. He is lead clinician for the Peart-Rose Clinic at the Hammersmith Hospital, a tertiary referral centre for hypertension and cardiovascular risk factor management. His clinical and research interests include hypertension and primary and secondary cardiovascular disease prevention.
He sees out-patients with all aspects of hypertension (including confirmation and investigation of newly-diagnosed hypertension, secondary hypertension, resistant and hard to control hypertension and patients who find it hard to tolerate usual treatments) as well as general medical problems.
He looks after in-patients with hypertension and its complications and those with acute and general internal medical problems.
