About me

I am a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and have worked with adults, children and families. I have experience in NHS, third sector and private settings, since 2011, gaining my doctoral qualification in 2016. Further training I have undertaken includes eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), Clinical supervision, dialectical behavioural therapy, compassion- focussed therapy (CFT), acceptance and commitment (ACT) and systemic practice.

My training enables me to work across the lifespan from a variety of psychological models, coming from the position of understanding distress and emotional difficulties as a response to difficult life experiences. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their difficulties, to find their own way forward in recovery. I work with clients who have experienced trauma and adversity and those who exhibit a range of difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, self-harm, suicidality, voice hearing and dissociation. I also offer a safe and supportive space to process historical/current difficult life experiences, as well as transitional times, such as bulling, abuse, grief and loss, relational and perinatal difficulties. In addition, I have experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals who are exploring their sexuality and/or gender identity, along with those who are accessing ongoing treatments to affirm their identified gender.

Clients must be wanting to access this kind of psychological therapy for it to be effective.

Not currently taking on new clients. Please send an email to be added to my waiting list.
