About me

I trained in Medicine in Leeds, graduating in 1987. I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at King George and the London Chest Hospitals in 1996.

I'm best known for my involvement in the resuscitation and subsequent treatment of footballer Fabrice Muamba in March 2011. I am actively involved in promoting CPR training of the general public.

As well as having a busy NHS and Private Practice I am heavily involved in Post Graduate Medical training. I'm a Past President of the Cardiology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. I am the Head of the School of Medicine and Medical Specialties in London, responsible for the postgraduate education and training of approximately 2500 doctors.
