About me

At Kingfisher Counselling Chester I provide the opportunity for you to explore any difficulties you are experiencing in your life in a welcoming, non-judgemental, safe and confidential environment. I offer both face to face appointments and remote sessions via telephone or video. My working days are Thursday and Friday, with some additional availability for remote sessions outside of this.

Life can feel difficult or overwhelming at times and I understand that taking the step to contact a counsellor can feel daunting - it takes courage to ask for help. Counselling can offer the space to reflect and explore issues that are troubling you, in a calm environment, with a trained professional. Talking with a counsellor who is independent of your situation can help to clarify and make sense of your thoughts and feelings and make choices about how you would like to move forward.

I am an experienced counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked in a range of settings including in a GP practice, an inner city charity, in hospices, a breast cancer charity and in private practice.

I trained in the person-centred model of counselling. This is based on the belief that each of us has the resources to flourish and that the therapeutic environment of a counselling relationship can encourage this process to take place. I have also completed short courses in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) which I integrate into my work as appropriate. My practice is also trauma-informed having undertaken a series of workshops in this area.
