About me

Dr Rebecca Murphy is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who is a registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and who has been awarded charted status from the British Psychological Society.

Rebecca has over fourteen years’ experience working within the NHS and other public and private sector organizations working across a range of community, inpatient and secure services for children, adults and families.

Rebecca is trained and qualified to assess and formulate psychological and relational needs, and to work therapeutically with a range of client groups. However, she has specialised in working with children, young people and family groups due to her passion for supporting children and young people to navigate difficult experiences and to help them to develop the resilience, skills and strategies to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

Rebecca is trained to deliver a range of psychological interventions which are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Rebecca has expertise in working with children and families with complex mental health and social care needs who are often on the edge of therapeutic opportunity and where there may be significant risk issues. Other areas of expertise include attachment needs and adjustment disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), autistic spectrum conditions (ASC), looked after and adopted children, parental mental health and psychiatric inpatient services.

Specialised assessments include neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental assessments (such as the WISC-V and ADOS-II), personality functioning (including the PAI and the MACI), differential diagnosis, and risk assessments.
