About me
Mo Saeed is a highly experienced consultant surgeon specialising in General and Colorectal Surgery with 20 years experience at consultant level. He treats a wide range of disorders associated with the intestines and in particular those related to the colon and rectum.
Having graduated from Manchester University in 1988, Mr Saeed undertook surgical training in Manchester and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1992. He undertook specialist training in colorectal surgery in Manchester and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) research degree from the University of Manchester in 1999. Mr Saeed was appointed Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Stepping Hill Hospital in 2001, where he has been Clinical Director for Surgery, clinical lead for Colorectal Cancer Surgery and Head of Department of Endoscopy.
Mr Saeed is one of only a small number of surgeons in the UK and the first in Manchester to routinely perform both the HALO operation (Haemorrhoidal Artery Ligation Operation) and Radio-frequency-Ablation (Rafaelo) for the treatment of haemorrhoids. He Undertakes Colonoscopy and advanced colonoscopy procedures and gastroscopies and is JAG accredited. He is a very experienced Bowel Cancer surgeon and also routinely undertakes open and keyhole hernia and gallbladder surgery. He has a specialist interest in sportsman's hernias.
Achievements
Mr Saeed is very involved in teaching and training of new surgeons and has previously been Royal College of Surgeons tutor in Surgery and currently sits on the North West Regional Training Board for General Surgery.
