About me

Nish Mehta is a Consultant ENT Surgeon, Otologist (specialised ear surgeon) as well as Auditory Implant surgeon (surgically implanting technological solutions when hearing aids are no longer sufficient).

His practice includes medical and surgical treatment for both children and adults with a broad range of ENT issues. He has a dual appointment as BRC Associate Professor at the Ear Institute, UCL for Deafness and Hearing Health where he leads studies on novel detection and treatments for hearing loss. He is also a collaborator for research into children with recurring tonsillitis and sleep disordered breathing as well as adults with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.

Mr Mehta trained in advanced ENT surgery through the London School of Surgery’s prestigious ENT programme apprenticing at Great Ormond Street, St Bartholomew’s, Royal National ENT and Imperial Hospitals. He has been awarded Alice Maud Hall, TWJ Foundation and Royal Society of Medicine scholarships to study endoscopic ear surgery (Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, USA), cholesteatoma surgery with hearing and mastoid reconstruction (Radboud Medical Centre, Nijmegen, Netherlands), and surgery for advanced cholesteatoma (Madras ENT Research Foundation, Chennai, India), respectively. He undertook the Graham Fraser Memorial fellowship in surgery for auditory implantation (Sydney, Australia).
