About me

After completing higher specialist training in the Mersey Deanery, I have worked as a consultant for the last 7 years.
I have amassed a valuable clinical experience in the management of a variety of endocrine and general medicine disorders.
I have written several guidelines and pathways to patient management.
I have been a consultant representative in the West Cheshire Area Prescribing Committee (APC) panel.
I have worked towards introducing new medicines, new technologies for the benefit of my patients' health.
I have presented papers in national and international conferences.
I have a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

I have well over 50,000 patient-hours experience, this metric is a measure of time spent with patients with endocrine and general medicine disorders, both in the outpatient and inpatient setting since achieving CCT. This has strengthened my understanding of disease pathophysiology and this has enhanced my ability to unravel challenging disease patterns, and suggest suitable solutions.

I am the Trust Fluid champion at the Countess of Chester Hospital, having launched the Trust IV fluid policy last year

In addition to clinical work, I also hold the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. In this role, I support the University in delivering small group learning, such as case-based learning (CBL), Communications for Clinical Practice (CCP), debrief, simulation exercises, research and academic supervision of students.

I successfully pioneered the use of Skype technology to improve antenatal patient care and experience.This was well over 2 years before the onset of COVID-19. For this initiative my antenatal team was awarded the Quality in Care (QiC) diabetes award 2019 for the category Patient Care Pathway-Adults- ‘Telemedicine in Improving Care and Outcomes, in Antenatal Diabetes Patients’.


I has received an award for Outstanding Patient Care at Countess of Chester hospital in June 2016.
