About me

I am a specialist corneal and cataract surgeon working in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

I specialise in complex cataract surgery, dry eye disease, keratoconus and corneal transplantation.

I completed my basic medical training at the University of Birmingham and started my ophthalmological training in 2001 in the West Midlands. In 2009, I joined the University of Birmingham as a Clinical Lecturer working under Professor Murray where I joined number of research programs and develop a passion for teaching the next generation of doctors.

My research interests revolved around severe forms of Dry Eye Disease, and I performed basic science into the immunology of the ocular surface in patients with severe Dry Eye Disease. My research won the Bron Award in 2013 and I was awarded a Doctor in Medicine by the University of Birmingham in 2018.

I completed a Corneal and Anterior Segment Fellowship in Nottingham, under Professor Harminder Dua in 2014, learning how to deal with complex corneal and ocular surface disease.

In 2015 I moved to Cheltenham General Hospital. I have been able to continue my interest in teaching, developing online teaching materials, and simulated surgical teaching. I have been able to develop a thriving corneal service by always making sure the patient and their needs are at the centre of everything we do.
