About me

Mr Branimir Penev is Consultant Urological Surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has a broad experience in urology gained in the UK and overseas. He completed the specialist training programme in the University Hospitals Sofia, Bulgaria, following which he subspecialised in Endourology, including in Switzerland and in Andrology, in the University College London. He consolidated his experience in the West of Scotland Urology Training Programme and in St Bartholomew’s, and Newham University Hospitals in London.
Mr Penev has special interest in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate, for which he receives tertiary referrals from other centres. In MTW NHS Trust, he introduced an out patients service for diagnostics and management of urine incontinence and has led masterclasses training for intravesical Botox treatments.
Having excelled in his clinical and academic work, he was awarded the UK CCT in Urology. He has strong interest in research, with publications in peer reviewed journals and giving numerous international presentations in endourology. He is an educational supervisor with significant teaching experience, including lecturing for MCh in Surgery and Urology in The Canterbury Christ Church University.
