About me

Upon graduating from Trinity College Dublin medical school in 1981 Mr Ciaran Healy gained experience in a range of surgical specialties prior to commencing training as a Plastic Surgeon. After initially working in Burns and Plastic Surgery Units in South Wales, Bristol and London, he spent two years in full time research into nerve injuries at the Middlesex Hospital Institute of Neurological Studies. This led to a prize winning project for which Mr Healy was awarded a Medical Doctorate. Recommencing Plastic Surgical training at Addenbrooke's Hospital, he was appointed as a Tutor in Anatomy at Gonville and Caius College Cambridge. Mr Healy completed his training across London hospitals including Mount Vernon, UCLH, Great Ormond Street, The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and The Hand Clinic at Windsor. Since joining St Thomas' Hospital in 1996 as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Healy has continued his professional training by attending meetings and courses and visiting other specialists in their units at home and abroad.
