About me

My approach to treating patients
I focus particularly on hip and knee surgery including minimally invasive and computer assisted joint replacement and arthroscopic (keyhole) hip and knee surgery.

I graduated from The University of Leeds and completed a rigourous postgraduate training including overseas training in the United States giving me a broad experience in general orthopaedics and trauma care.

I strongly believe continuing education is the key to providing excellent, ongoing patient care. I regularly attend national and international academic meetings and conferences to further enhance my surgical skills and clinical knowledge.

I have a strong commitment to research and with my research fellow participate in a number of ongoing research projects with other doctors and scientists.

I also believe in a professional approach to training tomorrow's doctors and am actively involved in teaching medical students and trainee surgeons. I also participate in national training programmes.

As an experienced doctor I have more than 15 years of specialisation in orthopaedics. I believe the most important aspects of providing quality care are listening to the needs of patients, communication; patient education; prevention of musculoskeletal injuries; presenting treatment options to the patient; establishing a relationship with my patients/involving patients in treatment plan; etc.)

My practice specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems including arthritis. My practice includes hip and knee replacement as well as general orthopaedics. I am an active trauma surgeon.

I believe in meeting patients' individual needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. Many musculoskeletal conditions can be treated by non-surgical techniques--surgery is just one treatment option. I aim to combine leading edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide my patients with the best orthopaedic care possible.

I work to develop a partnership with my patients. This begins with listening through dialogue, with my patients I can help them to understand the diagnostic process, their own unique problem, their treatment choices, and the recovery process. Patients always help to guide and direct the diagnostic and treatment activities.

I believe that knowledgeable patients make the best decisions about their own treatment. I want my patients to understand their condition: How it developed and how various treatment approaches can improve or repair the problem. When we consider treatment alternatives, I want to present a realistic outlook on the results we can achieve. I also believe in being frank about any risks that might be involved. If a non-surgical option is available, I will explain that avenue in depth. Lastly questions are always welcomed and encouraged at every stage
