About me

Asif graduated from the St Bartholomews and Royal London Medical School in 2002 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and BSc in Clinical Medicine. Asif completed this psychiatric training in Hampshire and Dorset achieving Member of Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2008. He also completed his CCT in General Adult Psychiatry with sub-speciality in Liaison Psychiatry in 2011.

Asif has a Diploma in Medical Education from university of Winchester (2012).

Prior to joining the Priory, Asif was NHS consultant psychiatrist for 8 years and worked in community/outpatient posts in North East London and Kingston. Asif worked as single point of access consultant in North East London between 2011-17, where he treated patients between the age of 18-70 years old with mood, anxiety and personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorder and psychotic disorders. He was also the NELFT Trust Lead for Adult ADHD and Borough lead for ADHD and autistic spectrum conditions.

Asif’s next consultant post was at Kingston where he treated patients between the ages of 18-70 years old, with recurrent mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders and psychotic disorders. Asif set up and developed the Kingston Personality Disorder Pathway to meet the unmet needs of the local population.
