About me
I am a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon working at Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital since 2016, and have been a Plastic Surgery specialist for over 15 years. My practice specialises in skin cancer and facial reconstructive surgery.
I am a core member of both the skin cancer and head & neck cancer MDTs in Nottingham, and the skin cancer MDT in Derby. I am the Plastic Surgery representative on the NHS England Skin Cancer Committee, previous Chair of the East Midlands Skin Cancer Network Expert Clinical Advisory Group, and sit as a surgical advisor on a range of skin cancer related research committees and working parties across the UK. I have been asked to give lectures both nationally and internationally on skin cancer surgery and head & neck reconstruction, and have worked as a skin cancer specialist surgical advisor to Novartis, BMS, Regeneron and Sanofi-Genzyme.
During my training I completed a national fellowship in both skin cancer and head & neck reconstruction, and I was awarded the Gold Medal for my performance in the FRCS Plastic Surgery Fellowship Exam (Ian McGregor Medal) in 2014.
As well as my clinical interests I am passionate about teaching the next generation of Plastic surgeons. I am a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) that oversees Plastic surgery training in the UK & Ireland, and the Quality Assurance lead for Plastic surgery training in the UK. I am also the SAC representative on the National Skin Cancer Training Interface Fellowships, the portfolio lead for National Selection for Plastic Surgery Training, and part of the interview panel for the National Head & Neck Oncology Training Interface Fellowships.
I place great value on building strong relationships with my patients, and working in partnership to get the best possible outcome.
