About me

Dr Brum has trained in the UK and obtained her MRCP in 2009 and then followed specialist training in HIV/Genitourinary Medicine in London .Additionally, she obtained her Diplomas for HIV, Genitourinary Medicine , Family planning and DRCOG ( Diploma of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists).She is also a member of the British Menopause Society and International Menopause Society.
Roberta was appointed as Consultant Physician in HIV and Genitourinary Medicine at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London in 2014. In 2018, Roberta was appointed the Lead Service Clinician for the Largest HIV clinic in Europe, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Her clinical expertise includes all aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Sexually Transmitted Infections, in both men and women. She has extensive experience in managing all aspects of HIV infection, AIDS and antiretroviral therapy and is currently the lead for Women’s Health within her Department. Her regular clinics include those for chronic female problems (BV/TV /Thrush ); as well as dedicated HIV women’s health clinics; menopause clinics and joint HIV and pregnancy clinics. She has extensive experience with syphilis management and leads virtual clinic locally. She has a large cohort of Portuguese speaking patients, both in HIV and at her Sexual Health clinics.

Areas of interest

Dr Brum's main clinical interests include all aspects of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Sexually Transmitted infections; Herpes; HIV ;Syphilis management; recurrent vaginal infections and chronic /recurrent urogenital conditions, in both men and women. She is also an advocate of a holistic approach to healthcare and in particular listening to patients concerns and involving them in their treatment plans.
