About me

Dr Rima Al-Saffar is a Paediatric Consultant at the Royal London Hospital as well as being the Clinical Lead for General Paediatrics for the Royal London Hospital. Dr Al-Saffar qualified with an MB BS and BSc from St. George's Hospital Medical School in 2003 and completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of Liverpool in 2010. She has been a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health since 2007 and entered the GMC specialty register in August 2015. Dr Al-Saffar is able to support consultations in both English and Arabic.

Dr Al-Saffar has worked with the World Health Organisation, International Organisation for Migration, with experience in working in low resource settings abroad, and working with an NHS England supported Vanguard to improve paediatric outcomes and pathways in Tower Hamlets. Her current post is within an acute children's hospital which functions both as a specialist centre and district general hospital to the local population. Her interests are in managing the acutely unwell child as well as ensuring the overall well-being of the child and family from early years onward.

Dr. Al-Saffar is experienced in managing all aspects of child health ranging from general check ups and queries to more specialists investigations for specific diagnoses with onward referrals to a sub-specialist if needed. Dr Al-Saffar runs a special interest clinic in Asthma with the respiratory team at her trust.
