About me

Victoria Mann is a Registered Dietitian with over 7 years full time NHS experience. She graduated with a Masters in Dietetics from King’s College London in 2011. Since graduating she has gained a wide variety of expertise in the clinical setting. She started her career in Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Here she gained a vast array of experience in the medical nutritional therapy of various diseases including heart disease, stroke, elderly care, cancer and diabetes. She spent time working in the Weight Management & Bariatric surgery team working with both groups and individuals aiming to lose weight and improve their health.

She then moved back to Oxford and specialised in Bariatric Surgery and Upper GI Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She has a wide range of experience in both malignant and benign conditions and was an integral part of daily ward rounds. She gained experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and helped to run the Bariatric group sessions. She then took an interest in Hepatobiliary conditions such as Pancreatitis, Pancreatic Cancer and diseases of the liver and biliary tract. She began to develop this service and set up a Dietetic provision for these patients.

Following on from this she moved into a Macmillan post as an Advanced Hepatobiliary Dietitian. She set up the service for Nutrition in Hepatobiliary Cancers across the Thames Valley Network and developed the service to provide comprehensive nutritional advice from diagnosis to palliative care. She also worked closely with Diabetes UK and has written patient information on the management of Type 3c diabetes in pancreatic disease and the appropriate identification and treatment of this. She is also the author of the Thames Valley Network guidelines on appropriate prescribing of Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy (PERT). These guidelines were written with the aim to improve prescribing and dose adjustment of pancreatic enzymes. She has also reviewed the Pancreatic Cancer UK ‘Diet and Pancreatic Cancer’ booklet.

Victoria has spoken at International conferences on the importance of Nutrition in Pancreatic Cancer and the Dietetic management of Type 3c diabetes. She was also a 2018 Macmillan Professional Awards finalist for her work in developing the service in Oxford.
She has also been involved in educating Dietitian’s across the country on the nutritional management of pancreatic disease. She also set up and ran an audit using Hand Grip Strength to assess nutritional status in pancreatic surgery patients.

Her passion is now for the management of both health and disease through good food and nutrition. Victoria is also qualified as a Personal Trainer so is uniquely qualified to provide advice on both nutrition and exercise to improve health and wellbeing.
