About me

Nadia Ashraf is a certified Consultant Ear Nose & Throat-Head & Neck Surgeon and Facial Plastic Surgeon. She qualified with a First class Bachelor degree in Medical Sciences and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees with distinction from the University of Nottingham Medical School. She undertook surgical training in the central London teaching hospitals, including Great Ormond Street, University College London, Whipps Cross and Barts & The London. She then went on to do higher surgical training in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, gaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Subsequent to that, she undertook sub-specialist training in Facial Plastic Surgery under the auspices of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, training at various centres across the world including: Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, USA; Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia; Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore and Lewisham Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital, London. She has passed the internationally-recognised European Board examinations in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, administered by the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Miss Ashraf is an examiner for the General Medical Council and the University of Nottingham Medical School. She has held roles as Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and anatomy demonstrator at Imperial College London. She is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training of doctors of all grades and is currently the Undergraduate Lead for final year student doctors placed at Burton Hospital from the University of Leicester Medical School. She has been the Director of the Association of Surgeons in Training ENT Operative skills course and teaching faculty on a number of other postgraduate training courses for surgeons.

Miss Ashraf sees all general adult and paediatric ENT cases and is trained in the full range of ENT surgery. She has particular interest and expertise in Facial Plastic Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Rhinology and Paediatric ENT.

- Facial Plastic Surgery:
Facial skin lesion/cancer removal and reconstruction, rhinoplasty/septorhinoplasty (correction of nasal airway and deformity), facial palsy treatment and reconstructive surgery, otoplasty/pinnaplasty (pinning back prominent ears), blepharoplasty (eyelid lifting surgery), cosmetic injection treatment (Botox), scar revision (including treatment of keloid scars), repair of split earlobes

- Head & Neck Surgery:
Salivary gland (parotid and submandibular) and thyroid surgery

- Rhinology:
FESS (sinus surgery, including for nasal tumours), endoscopic surgery for epiphora/watery eyes (DCR)

- Paediatric ENT surgery:
Neck lumps, myringoplasty/tympanoplasty (surgery for perforated eardrum), glue ear, tonsillectomy
