Thank you.

I specialise in helping people with anxiety and relationship issues to recover their confidence, feel more calm and be able to resolve conflict.

Do you find yourself feeling:

- Overwhelmed - under pressure and struggling to cope?
- Guilty - like you're letting people down?
- Uncomfortable/embarrassed - you're not normally the one asking for help?
- Lost, stuck - you don't know what you want and can't seem to make a decision?
- Frustrated - you just want to get things back to how they were?

I can help you to:

- Unburden difficult thoughts and feelings;
- Process past experiences and the way they show up in your life;
- Resolve conflict (with others, or within yourself);
- Navigate uncertainty;
- Discover your authentic needs and wishes;
- Identify boundaries needed to help you live your best life;
- Work with obstacles to these.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The space offered by a weekly, confidential session with a counsellor is like an extra room, an extension for our minds. It is a space in which we can explore what is troubling us and what we are looking for. It is a safe container for our questions and difficult memories - a place where we can unburden ourselves. It is quiet, private and non-judgemental, so that we can finally hear ourselves, away from the distraction of loved-ones’ advice, however well-intentioned. We can leave stuff behind and return to it each week, so that we don’t have to carry it around with us in our daily lives.

BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

Contact me now to book an initial consultation of counselling. This provides an opportunity to talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. You also get an experience of working with me, to see if this feels right for you before deciding what you want to happen next.

All sessions last 50 minutes and are confidential. You can choose between online video (Zoom) or telephone - please indicate your preference. You don’t have to do anything to prepare for the sessions but you will need access to a quiet, private space where you will not be interrupted or overheard.

HOW I WORK

The therapy I offer is called the person centred approach, which means I don't diagnose or give advice, I go with what you bring. I listen and pay attention to the way you see and feel about things, walking along beside you to help you find your own best answer.

I also use the Compassionate Inquiry approach, this is a gentle way of healing trauma that has got 'stuck' in the nervous system.

Former clients have reported feeling:

⁃ Able to trust themselves, their wishes and needs;
⁃ More connected in their relationships;
⁃ Able to resolve dilemmas;
⁃ More creative and ‘playful‘.

ABOUT ME

Since qualifying in 2007 I have worked in many different settings including workplace counselling, the NHS and education. I have been in private practice for 10 years.

I am also a musician and my former career was as a writer/ producer in the recording industry. This gives me first-hand knowledge and experience of the highs and lows of the commercial entertainment industries.

I love gardening for wildlife and being in nature. I developed and delivered a one-to-one gardening therapy service for young people from 2010-2014.

I am registered and accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I undertake regular professional training to maintain high standards in my practice, have regular clinical supervision and am fully insured.
