About me

Hello and welcome to my personal profile. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP accredited). My private practice has involved providing therapy to both adults and children. Alongside this, I also have worked for the NHS with adults experiencing a range of symptoms and disorders, and currently work in Primary and Secondary Schools for a service called Relate . I have a passion for working with a diverse range of client groups who struggle with managing and regulating their emotions. I have a range of skills that I utilise to counter emotional distress through Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. The focus of sessions includes assessment, identifying and teaching relevant coping strategies, building resilience, confidence and empowerment, addressing maladaptive and challenging thoughts and behaviours.

My sessions consist of assessment and this includes parents if the child or young person is under the age of 14. The aim of the assessment is to identify what difficulties the individual is experiencing and their suitability for CBP. Also, it is important to identify what maintains the problems and break down cycles that maintain the individual's emotional distress. Goals will be identified at assessment and treatment sessions will focus on meeting them. If therapy is with a child, depending on their age, therapy may include parents pr carers being involved to help the child overcome their difficulties if appropriate.

Please do feel free to contact me for a brief consultation as it is important to feel comfortable with the therapist
