About me

Dr Antonia Lloyd-Lavery has been a Consultant Dermatologist at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford since 2017. Her areas of specialist expertise are inflammatory skin disease (including severe eczema and psoriasis), autoimmune blistering diseases, connective tissue diseases, general dermatology and skin cancer diagnosis. Dr Lloyd-Lavery leads a regional service for autoimmune blistering diseases and works closely with other medical specialities including the Rheumatology team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, with whom she runs a monthly joint connective tissue disease clinic. She also runs a joint oral medicine-dermatology clinic with an oral medicine specialist from the Eastman Dental Hospital, London.

Dr Lloyd-Lavery trained at Oxford University, graduating with a First class Honours degree in Medical Sciences and a Distinction in her medical degree. After achieving membership of the Royal College of Physicians, she completed an NIHR awarded academic clinical fellowship during her dermatology specialist training and subsequently a national fellowship in medical dermatology.

Dr Lloyd-Lavery has extensive clinical research experience and has been an investigator for multiple clinical trials of new treatments for severe eczema. She is also Principle Investigator in Oxford for BADBIR, a long term study of psoriasis treatments. Her contribution to dermatology research has been recognised by two national research awards from the National Institute for Health Research, Royal College of Physicians and British Association of Dermatologists. Dr Lloyd-Lavery has been a speaker at multiple international conferences and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. She is also an associate editor for the British Journal of Dermatology. As a Clinical Lecturer at Oxford University, she has a strong interest in medical education and is actively involved in delivering the dermatology teaching programme at Oxford Clinical School.

Outside of work, Dr Lloyd-Lavery enjoys spending most of her free time with her two young children and husband. She is a great animal lover and enjoys music, playing the piano and Irish harp to a high standard.
