About me
My private practice is based in North London at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth and Hendon Hospital. They are leading healthcare hospitals in the UK which provide exceptionally high standards of clinical care and are always up to date with latest technology.
My NHS practice is based at Guys and St Thomas Hospitals in Central London where I am the Clinical Lead for Hand Surgery and Lead for the Day Surgery Unit. I am committed to improving safety and outcomes following surgery and as such, have pioneered a new Wide Awake Surgery service for Hand Surgery. This has improved the safety of many operations, which are now mainly performed under local anaesthetic instead of general anaesthetic.
I graduated with first class honours in New Zealand in 2001, prior to specialising in Plastic Surgery in London. I continued to train in subspecialty areas in fellowships, including training in orthoplastic complex trauma reconstruction and hand surgery at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, paediatric hand and plastic surgery at Great Ormond St Hospital and aesthetic surgery at The Wellington Hospital. After obtaining Fellowship status at the Royal College of Surgeons, I was also awarded the European Board of Hand Surgery Diploma. I became a Consultant in 2014.
I am passionate about training the next generation of surgeons. I am the Course Director for the Advanced Hand and Wrist Cadaveric Dissection Course and I teach at the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal Society of Medicine. I am on the invited faculty of several other plastic surgery and hand surgery courses, including courses on Peripheral Nerve Surgery and Joint Replacements. I also organise and teach on specialist training courses for Hand Therapists and General Practitioners.
I sit on the interview panel for National Selection for plastic surgery trainees. I have many publications in peer reviewed journals, including book chapters, and I have presented my work internationally.
I am compassionate and committed to providing the highest quality care.
