About me

Dr Ajai Seth is a highly experienced Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation Medicine. He has dedicated his career to helping people with sport and exercise related injury and illness.

He believes that everyone deserves the very best treatment for their sporting injuries/illnesses, whether they are an olympian, or a first time runner. Dr. Seth works with top elite sports clubs and teams and is able to apply the same medical principles for his athletes to the everyday exerciser. He values the time, dedication and determination that people put into their health, and feels they deserve the best medical advice to make the right decisions. He has a holistic approach to treating injury, taking the time to explore all his patients' needs; physically, mentally and socially.

Sports Medicine

Dr. Seth is one of a small number of Consultants in the UK who specialise purely in sports medicine. He has undergone in-depth training to develop a unique clinical skill set.

Dr. Seth is the Wimbledon Tennis Championships player's doctor. He also works with England Men's Football Development squad, but also for British Athletics, European Tour Golf, Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Dr. Seth also prides himself in working in disability sport, and is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Team GB Wheelchair Tennis and the Tennis Foundation, Britain's largest Tennis Charity. He also has a passion for travel and Expedition Medicine, which has seen him accompany medical, scientific and charity expeditions all around the world. He also has vast experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries from children and adolescents to veteran exercisers, both male and female.

What to expect at your appointment

Dr. Seth specialises in using non-surgical techniques to rehabilitate patients from injury. He believes that exercise and physical activity is the best form of rehabilitation. In his consultation, he is able to assess your injury or illness and provide an accurate diagnosis. He is able to perform an ultrasound scan in the consultation and is able to arrange other imaging such as MRI, CT scan efficiently if required.

Dr. Seth believes that patients should be in control of their care and rehabilitation. He helps his patient understand their injury and go through any scans or investigation with them in detail to ensure they have the full clinical picture. From there, Dr. Seth creates a joint management plan with his patients.

He works closely with other specialists in the same clinic including physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, podiatrists and soft tissue therapists, with seamless transition between practitioners if required. In the uncommon scenario where a surgical opinion is required, Dr. Seth has a vast amount of contacts who specialise in the surgical management of sport injuries to ensure his patients receive the best advice and care.

Career history

Dr. Seth studied medicine at University College London, graduating in 2008. Outside of his private practice and elite sport work, he maintains his passion for his work in the NHS. He also has worked as a Consultant with the Ministry of Defence.

- British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) Executive Committee
- President, Royal Society of Medicine
- FFSEM, Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine

Dr. Seth also has a strong academic interest having published in sports medicine peer reviewed journals, and conducting a Research Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. His has presented his research findings internationally.
