About me

I am now seeing clients face-to-face at Spire Elland Hospital ((from 4th June 2021).

I offer you a safe and welcoming service designed around you and the issues you wish to explore. All my work is fully insured, I hold a current enhanced DBS check and I am a Registered member MBACP (accred). Please see www.bacp.co.uk for more information.

I am a highly experienced counsellor and therapist. I was originally trained by Relate and am a fully qualified Relate relationship counsellor, young people’s counsellor and clinical supervisor. I also have an MA in Counselling from York St John University and studied CBT at the University of York. In addition to working for Relate, I have also spent many years as an NHS mental health therapist, staff counsellor, counselling service manager and clinical supervisor.

I also work as a Mental Health Specialist along with an Equine Specialist to deliver therapy using horses in their natural environment. We are both professionals in our own fields and together we offer therapeutic space to work with the herd both in the arena, fields and paddocks.

Areas of interest

I work with individuals, couples, and young people (10 - 25 yrs) face to face. I also work online via video link.
My approach is integrative and people come to see me for a variety of reasons, including: Relationship and family difficulties; bereavement; trauma; loss; work-home balance; health; difficulties at work/school/college/university; childhood emotional and sexual abuse; stress; personal development; workplace wellbeing; depression; generalised anxiety; PTSD; OCD; social anxiety; phobias; health anxiety; panic attacks; agoraphobia; low self-esteem.
