About me
I have been a consultant rheumatologist in Ipswich since 1994 having trained in Oxford, London, Cambridge and Norwich. I am a general rheumatologist with a special interest in rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of joint inflammation, vasculitis (including giant cell arteritis), polymyalgia rheumatic and the connective tissue diseases (including lupus, Sjogren's syndrome, myositis and scleroderma). I also see patients with othertypes of musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia. I arrange and interpret a wide range of tests such as antibody tests, imaging (including MRI, ultrasound and X-ray) I am the editor in chief of the Oxford Textbook of Rheumatology and previously of the journal Rheumatology. I have wide research interests including the occurrence, diagnosis and treatment of vasculitis and the connective tissue diseases. I am an honorary professor at Norwich Medical school, University of East Anglia, and visiting professor of rheumatology at the University of Suffolk.
