Dr Nijjer also sees patients at the Cromwell Hospital, The Basinghall Clinic, the Syon Clinic and Bishops Wood Hospital. He frequently performs procedures at the Hammersmith Hospital, The Cromwell and The Wellington Hospital. He performs specialist cardiac procedures including coronary angiography, coronary physiological assessment, intravascular imaging and coronary angioplasty. Dr Nijjer also places internal heart monitoring devices for those patients with fast or racing heart beats. In patients with slow heart beats, he may insert pacemaker devices.

Dr Nijjer has expertise in Cardiology with subspeciality expertise in coronary intervention. He is a specialist in assessing patients with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, faints, and ankle swelling.

Dr Nijjer is an expert in the management of coronary artery disease, including acute myocardial infarction (heart attacks). He performs coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty (stenting) and he also implants pacemakers. He is an expert in the use of coronary physiology and intravascular imaging to guide and optimise​ the treatment of heart arteries.

Dr Nijjer also has expertise in anti-platelets medications and has been invited as a speaker at International conferences. He also has expertise in the use of CT coronary angiography to help diagnose patients efficiently and without the need for invasive procedure.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and is the President of Cardiology at the Royal Society of Medicine. He is also the Communications Lead for the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.

He has a PhD awarded by Imperial College London in coronary blood flow and the use of Stenting to treat complex blockages. His PhD research work has been published in major Cardiology journals and contributed to the development of a clinical tool used in thousands of patients around the world. He has presented his research at the leading cardiology conferences around the world, including the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) and EuroPCR. In addition to winning many prizes he was a Gold Medal finalist at the Royal Society of Medicine Gold Medal 2015 and and a finalist for BCIS Young Investigator 2015.

He has over 100 high impact publications (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Nijjer+S), including the European Heart Journal, the Journal of American College of Cardiology, the New England Journal of Medicine and the Lancet. Dr Nijjer has designed and lead research studies and contributed to major international studies that have changed the way Interventional Cardiologists practice around the world.
