About me

Dr Goel graduated in 2004 from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical Schools, London. After gaining comprehensive Medical experience working around London and the South East, he entered Gastroenterology and General Medicine specialist training in 2008. He undertook clinical research at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals into the Genetics and Microbiology of Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease. During this period, he also undertook training in advanced endoscopic techniques and procedures. Throughout his career, he has been fortunate to undertake clinical attachments in Australia, India, Japan and the Cook Islands. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles, authored numerous abstracts, presented at international meetings in Asia and Europe, and written a textbook chapter. He is currently involved in clinical research as a principal investigator for multiple clinical trials involving treatments for inflammatory bowel disease. He was appointed as a full time Consultant in Gastroenterology at Kingston Hospital in 2016, where he took up the role of lead for Endoscopy services. He is currently lead for the Inflammatory bowel disease service and the clinical drugs and therapeutics services.

His clinical interests include therapeutic endoscopy (including treatment for bowel polyps and gastrointestinal bleeding), gastroscopy, colonoscopy (including polypectomy), wireless video capsule endoscopy, gastro-oesophageal acid reflux (including wireless pH monitoring studies), dyspepsia (indigestion), irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea, nutrition and orofacial granulomatosis and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis).

His personal interests include amateur motor racing, filmmaking and playing squash.
