About me

Dr. Raj Chari is a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist at the world-renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, a part of Oxford University Hospitals, UK. Oxford University Hospitals are busy tertiary centres where he provides musculoskeletal diagnostic, image-guided interventional service and clinical consultations. He is a part of the multidisciplinary orthopaedic sarcoma board and regional sports and exercise medicine meeting as a part of the multidisciplinary OXSPORT team. The OXSPORT patients include national and international level elite athletes including runners, rowers, weight lifters, football, rugby and cricket players.
He completed a structured radiology specialist registrar training from the Mersey Deanery, Liverpool, UK. He has excelled in clinical and academic areas through his training years, won a number of academic prizes and successfully obtained training completion certificate (CCST).
He travelled to Canada for a year and completed musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at the McGill University, Montreal. He has obtained additional subspecialist experience in trauma, sports, rheumatological, oncological musculoskeletal and spine imaging and intervention.
Dr. Chari obtained the British Society of Skeletal Radiology (BSSR) travel scholarship in 2016 and had an opportunity to have a mini fellowship experience in musculoskeletal intervention in Strasbourg, France.
His further qualifications include Membership of Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), MSc in diagnostic imaging from Oxford University and Diploma from European Society of Skeletal Radiology.
Dr. Chari’s career has been a good balance between clinical and academic roles. He has showed an immense passion towards research and academic activities. He has authored and co-authored a number of medical publications. He participates in CME activities regularly and speak at a number of national and international conferences every year.
Dr Chari was the organiser of 2022 BSSR national conference in Oxford. he was a member of IAAF international games medical team, IAAF winter games medical team and he will be a part of 2022 Commonwealth games medical team.
