About me

I am an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the BABCP & a Europe Accredited EMDR Consultant. I frequently use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) throughout my practice.

I am also trained and practice as a Clinical Supervisor.

I am experienced in using ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and Mindfulness.

In my NHS role I work with individual's providing CBTp (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy psychosis)

I have a range of experience of working with Complex Trauma, PTSD/Trauma, Disordered Attachment, Psychosis, Dissociation,
Depression, Chronic Depression Anxiety Disorders, Eating Disorders and Pain Management

I currently work part time in the NHS as a Psychotherapist in an Early Intervention in Psychosis Team working with individuals who present with a first episode of Psychosis. I work with young people from the age of 14 years upwards.

I have extensive experience of working in a Primary Care setting working in GP Surgeries with clients presenting with a range of anxiety disorders, Complex Trauma, PTSD and depression.

I have experience of working with young people from the age of 14 years upwards.

My background from secondary care Mental Health Services has provided me with the experience of working with acute and enduring mental health problems. I have experience of working in a crisis team and liaison providing comprehensive risk assessments and treatment in A&E departments and community settings.

In 2004 I commenced work as a Senior Community Mental Health Worker in assisting the Team Leader in setting up an Early Intervention in Psychosis Team in the Community. This service provided assessment and treatment to individuals with first onset psychosis from the ages of 14 to 35 years.

Whilst working in Early Intervention I commenced my MSc in Psychosocial Interventions (PSI). I am passionate about working with individuals using a holistic approach as opposed to the traditional medical model. The PSI course provided me with the skills to work with individuals, families and their carers.

In 2008 I commenced my CBT training and working within a Primary care setting with Depression and a full range of Anxiety disorders.
