About me

I have worked in both the voluntary and private sector of mental health. I see people in private practice and work on behalf of many of the large corporates. Although I see clients presenting with a range of issues, I have a specific interest in working with people struggling with the effects of stress and anxiety.
Prior to retraining as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in 2002, I worked at managerial and Board level within the commercial sector. An interest in people and a curiosity of the effects of stress and anxiety prompted further study and a greater understanding of the Human condition.
My MA in Psychodynamic counselling explored issues such as the unconscious effect old, and sometimes unresolved, events from the past can have on the present, and the importance for the individual to safely explore these issues.
I am also a qualified clinical supervisor and supervises different groups in agency and private settings. I have routinely conducted assessments for the NHS IAPT service and developed treatment plans for both open-ended and short term clients in therapy.
