About me

I am an award winning General Consultant Cardiologist for adult patients. Although my sub-specialty interest is in pacemaker devices and heart failure, I have over 22 years experience managing a broad range of cardiac conditions.

I was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at King George Hospital - Barking, Havering Redbridge University Hospitals’ NHS Trust (BHRUT) in 2012 and am the Clinical Lead for Heart Rhythm. I am also an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

I implant pacemakers, complex devices (defibrillators and biventricular pacemakers) at the largest state-of-the-art unit in the UK- Barts Heart Centre.

My NHS clinics are held at King George Hospital, Essex and I provide oncall support to Queens Hospital on some evenings and weekends. For any NHS enquiries, please contact my NHS secretary on 02089708144.

I undertake Private Practice at Spire London East Hospital on Saturday mornings. Appointment bookings can be arranged directly with Spire London East Hospital on 0208 709 7800.

In 2017, I received a Consultant Excellence Award in recognition of delivering high quality patient focused clinical services to BHRUT and my Quality Improvement Project on ICD deactivation was a national finalist in Patient Safety Awards. I also received a local Trust Prize for Best Audit in 2015.

I graduated from United Medical and Dental School of Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital, University of London in 1997 (now called GKT) and completed my cardiology training at the London Deanery in leading Teaching Hospitals’ in South East England including: St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital, St George’s Hospital, London and Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

I have successfully led service improvements in heart failure diagnosis and chest pain assessment at BHRUT and have written several policy documents on improving patient safety and care. I continue to be involved in high quality improvement projects and the regular supervision, mentoring training and education of junior doctors as a named Educational Supervisor.

I have published widely in several peer reviewed journals and my work regularly receives citations- find my online profile page on Researchgate for more information

I firmly believe in putting the needs of my patients first and always strive to offer the best possible care and experience regardless of whether they are NHS or Private.Patient feedback is very important to me.
