About me

I am employed as a consultant cardiologist at the Heart of England NHS Trust working at Good Hope hospital and Heartlands hospital.

I qualified in India from a prestigious medical college in South India in 2001. I obtained my postgraduate qualification (Membership of Royal College of Physicians) in 2005. Since then, I have trained in cardiology acquiring all the necessary skills to specialise in coronary intervention, general cardiology and sports cardiology.

I have performed over 2000 percutaneous coronary intervention and have trained in some of the world renowned units(Papworth hospital, Cambridge, Imperial College, London and San Raffaelle hospital, Milan). I directly trained under Professor Antonio Colombo (one of the world renowned interventional cardiologist) learning all the tips and tricks of coronary intervention. As a consultant,

I have performed over 1000 cases during which I have also supervised trainee doctors. I have special interest in opening chronically occluded coronary arteries and I have acquired this skill over the last 4-years. I have regular links with Japan and have been running workshops at Heartlands since 2014.

I have researched on athlete’s heart and obtained Doctorate in Medicine (MD) from King’s College London in 2011. My research answered one of the important questions in sports cardiology by assessing the ethnic differences in left ventricular remodelling between Caucasian athletes and athletes of African/ Afro-caribbean origin. I have assessed over 3000 athletes by performing ECG and echocardiogram during my research years and fully competent in evaluating cardiovascular system of athletes or any individual who undertakes regular physical training.

With the above skills and knowledge, I will be able to provide comprehensive cardiology service to patients at Little Aston and Sutton Medical centre
