About me

I lead a national specialist service for people with severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). I was a member of the group revising the diagnostic guidelines for for Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders for the World Health Organisation. I was a member of the group that wrote the NICE guidelines on OCD and BDD in 2006. I conduct research into OCD, BDD, the rapid treatment of depression using sleep deprivation and bright light therapy at the Institute of Psychiatry where I am a Visiting Professor.

Depression; Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD); Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); Specific phobias (especially vomiting or emetophobia); Social phobia; Panic disorder; Post-traumatic stress disorder; Social phobia; Health anxiety; bipolar disorder; treatment by cognitive behaviour therapy and triple chronotherapy and nutritional psychiatry; adults; adolescents only with OCD, BDD and emetophobia.
