About me
Mr Colin Holton qualified in 2002 from the University of Leeds Medical School. Following basic surgical training he became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2005.
His specialist orthopaedic training was in the Yorkshire region and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) 2012. He also undertook an MSc (Mechanical Engineering) investigating the use of bone graft in total hip replacement. His international hip fellowship was undertaken in Denmark under Professor Kjeld Soballe, Mr Martin Lamm and Mr Bent Lund where he gained further exposure to hip replacement and hip arthroscopy. He learnt the technique of minimally invasive PAO (peri-acetabular osteotomy) under world renowned PAO surgeon Prof Kjeld Soballe. He also undertook nationally recognised fellowship training in hip arthroscopy and total hip replacement under Mr Jon Conroy, Harrogate, UK.
Mr Holton was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, with a special interest in adolescent and young adult hip surgery, at the Leeds General Infirmary in 2014.
He submits his arthroplasty and non arthroplasty surgical outcomes to the national registers to ensure his patients outcomes continue to perform to the highest level.
