About me

I am accepting, open minded and honest. I am a Person Centred Counsellor with many years’ experience working with mental health and other difficult life issues. If things are feeling stuck or unclear, I can help you get a clearer sense of what’s troubling you and the right way forward. You may need space to offload difficult experiences and emotions or you may want help with coping strategies for dealing with overwhelming feelings. Counselling can help you feel stronger, more accepting of yourself and better prepared for life’s difficulties.

Mental health issues are still something people can be made to feel ashamed of and I commit to seeing you as a whole person, not defined by your troubles. If you have mental health issues it may be that difficult life experiences have contributed and I can support you as you explore them. I am also committed to non-discriminatory practice and welcoming diversity: I believe that people from ‘minority’ groups are too often marginalised and wherever possible I will work to ensure I do not contribute to this.

I am responsible and professional, I work with integrity and I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework. I am BACP Accredited and Registered.

Areas of interest

I have many years’ experience working with mental health and other difficult life issues. If things are feeling stuck or unclear, I can help you get a clearer sense of what’s troubling you and the right way forward. I can provide a safe space to offload difficult experiences and help with coping strategies for dealing with overwhelming feelings, including breathing exercises for managing panic and anxiety. I also practice Focusing, which is an evidence based approach to connecting with our own inner resources and shifting blocks, and which can be learnt as a strategy for self care. I am committed to non-discriminatory practice and welcoming diversity.
