About me

My career in Dermatology has spanned over 15 years and 2 continents.

I have been a Consultant for the last 5 years at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust, the only trust in London to be rated ‘outstanding’ in CQC inspection 2019.

During my time here, I have served as Lead for developing the community services for Kingston Dermatology. The core community service that I established at Raynes Park Health Centre was rated excellent in a patient survey.

I have also developed a hair loss clinic at Kingston. This is the only clinic of its kind in South West London to address medical reasons for hair loss and draws referrals from all over England.

My interest in hair disorders, especially Frontal Fibrosing alopecia has seen me contribute academically to research. Results of this have been published in Nature, March 2019, one of the most reputed journals in medicine.

I have established myself simultaneously in private practise over the last 5 years at the private wing of Kingston Hospital and New Victoria Hospital.

We are at an exciting threshold in Dermatology with new emerging biological therapies and Tele dermatology, both of which are going to revolutionise the way we manage patients. Both these subjects are my areas of interest as well as acne and rosacea.

As I have the unique opportunity of having worked in the Asian sub-continent, I have a fair deal of experience in management of ethnic skin issues such as melasma.

I also undertake minor operative procedures such as biopsies, mole and skin tag removals.

I teach medical students, hold annual lectures for core medical trainees and have lectured at regional and national platforms to dermatology trainees, GPs, trichologists and nurses.

I endeavour to utilise research and innovative managements to provide the best possible care for my patients.

Areas of interest

Acne (including treatment with Isotretinoin and Spironolactone), rosacea, hair loss, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), ethnic skin, melasma, mole checks, actinic / solar keratoses, skin cancer, treatments of warts and molluscum, general dermatology and minor operative procedures such as cryotherapy, biopsy, botulinum toxin injections for excessive sweating, steroid injections for alopecia and keloids, mole and skin tag removals.
