About me

I have over a decade of experience in the field of private practice, and have also worked as a behavioural specialist in both residential and community settings with individuals, couples and families.

I offer both in-person and online sessions from my offices in Cardiff city centre. This offers greater levels of flexibility and versatility of service.  Whether you prefer the face-to-face experience or the flexibility of working online, I'll work around you. Simply book your preferred option and I'll be ready to work with you either in person or on screen.

I am trained to work with people in an integrative manner and have a Master of Arts Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Wales. This means that I am qualified to use a variety of therapeutic approaches and can tailor my work to meet the needs of each individual client. This is crucial, as I believe that every client has the innate capacity to make their life better; my job is just to help people relocate that spark. My aim is to make counselling a positive and optimistic experience; a case of making life even better rather than fixing what is wrong.

I specialise in the field of addictive and compulsive behaviours and am passionate about helping people to understand and experience recovery from such difficulties. These problematic behaviours can involve alcohol, drugs, food, OCD behaviours or self-harm to name some examples. I have written research papers in this area and work alongside governmental agencies to better understand and address such difficulties on a local level.

As an integral part of my practice, I also provide therapy sessions to counselling/psychotherapy students-in-training. I also provide supervision for practising counsellors and psychotherapists as part of their CPD requirement. Please get in touch for more details.


FACE-TO-FACE SESSION INSTRUCTIONS

When arriving at Brunel House, please sign in at reception via the automated system* and choose REGUS for purpose of visit. Take the elevator to the 15th floor and the REGUS reception staff will direct you to my waiting area. Please arrive at the REGUS reception five minutes before your session start time.

Brunel House is a 4-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street train station and ample parking is available in the vicinity. Please download the NCP app for discounted rates if using their nearby car parking facilities.

*Brunel House visitors must sign in via an automated system using photograph technology. Please be assured this is only for fire regulations and all data is automatically deleted every 24 hours.

VIDEO SESSION INSTRUCTIONS

Please provide your Skype address when prompted at booking stage. We can then send a connection request ready for your session. Skype is free and easy to download to most devices via their website and all app stores.

*If you suspect you have Covid19 symptoms, please do not attend a face-to-face session and attend via Skype instead. I reserve the right to refuse access or stop an in-person session if I suspect a client has Covid19 symptoms. I also reserve the right to switch to online working with immediate effect if I suspect I may have Covid19 symptoms.
