About me

I am a British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist, a Chartered Scientist and an Associate Fellow of the BPS. In addition, I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which is the government’s regulatory body for health, psychological and social work professionals.

I have a wealth of experience of working with a range of psychological issues, which I have gained from working within the NHS, charitable and private sectors.

Counselling Psychology places a great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and it is against this background that I use evidence based psychological treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have expanded my practice to incorporate third wave CBT approaches – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness.

I have a special interest in treating trauma and as such I am a member of the UK Psychological Trauma Society.

I established Riverside Psychology Service in 2008 to provide an empathic, professional and flexible service for those who wish to seek professional support to overcome their emotional difficulties.
