I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital, Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, Ramsay Pinehill Hospital .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

About me
Miss Shahid graduated in Medicine from Trinity College, University of Oxford in 1998. Since then she has trained in several leading Ophthalmology units, including the Tennant Institute of Ophthalmology and the Oxford Eye Hospital. She completed 3 years of advanced fellowship training in Glaucoma both in Oxford and Cambridge, before being appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. She is the former lead Consultant for the Department of Ophthalmology.
Miss Shahid is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. As well as general Ophthalmology, she has a special interest in all aspects of glaucoma care (medical, laser and surgical management) as well as adult cataract surgery, including the management of complex cataracts.
Miss Shahid has a research interest in genetics of complex eye disease and has published widely throughout her career. Her MRC-funded research at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research led to landmark publications in the New England Journal of Medicine and Nature genetics and the award of a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Oxford.
Miss Shahid is committed to the teaching and training of future generations of healthcare professionals, including medical students, junior doctors and optometrists.
