About me

I am a CBT therapist who has been accredited with the BABCP since 2004. I have experience working within secondary and primary care with clients with anxiety and depression. I have lectured in CBT at the University of York and currently guest lecture at the University of Hull.
I use third wave CBT such as ACT and Compassion Focused Therapy which I have worked in various schools offering a whole school approach to staff and students in managing well being and enhancing the compassionate culture of schools.
I am also an registered mental health nurse and mindfulness practitioner. I am trained in CBT-I cbt for insomnia. I am training in EMDR and am able to provide EMDR for PTSD.

Areas of interest

I am experienced in working with primarily adults with anxiety and depression. I particularly have a special interest in OCD and work using exposure and response prevention. I have experience of working with chronic pain and staff support.
I also work with depression using behavioural activation and CBT for depression.
I am able to offer EMDR for PTSD and have a special interest in working with Trauma.
I am trained in mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy which is particularly helpful for people with high levels of shame and self- criticism.
I am able to weave third wave approaches in CBT such as ACT and Mindfulness if clients would find this helpful.
