About me
Mr Peter Monksfield is an ENT surgeon with a special interest in disorders of the ears and balance. He graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1997. Peter had ENT training in Oxford, London and completed higher surgical training in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Following this he undertook advanced fellowship training in Neurotology and cochlear implant surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia under the tutelage of Associate Professor Robert Briggs. Peter has been a consultant ENT surgeon at the University Hospitals Birmingham since 2010 and performs all aspects of ear surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is on the specialist register of the General Medical Council.
Peter has a strong research interest and is running several research studies on implanted hearing devices. He regularly lectures both locally and nationally, has written many peer reviewed papers and teaches on several post graduate courses.
