About me

Mr Acher completed his training in South Thames in 2012 and was immediately appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Southend University Hospital. He has a strong academic background, having completed a PhD on the subject of prostate brachytherapy.

He has particular expertise in single-stage day case brachytherapy and has developed a state of the art prostate cancer diagnostic service with MRI-targeted transperineal prostate biopsy.

He is a laser surgeon for prostates (Holmium laser enucleation) and stone disease with published expertise of enlarged prostates.

Mr Acher is currently clinical lead for the urology department at Southend University Hospital and Honorary Clinical Lecturer for Barts & The London Medical School.

As well as publishing papers in a variety of journals and presenting work at scientific meetings, he writes reviews for several journals.
