Marie Reid is Professor of Psychology at the University of Hull and a Practitioner Psychologist in both Clinical and Health Psychology. As well as working in the NHS she practices privately both the the Nuffield York Hospital and remotely.

Research interests

Human eating behaviour is her major specialism in both research and clinical practice and she has published over 50 papers in this field. Research topics include effects of carbohydrates on body mass and behaviour, effects of eating on mood and mood management, food outcome expectancies, service users perspectives on their conditions and their treatment, making lifestyle improvements with people with intellectual disabilities, the life stories of people with physical or mental health problems.

Personal interests

My young family; walking with our dog; interior decorating; gardening; running the local book club.
