About me

Markus is a Sports and MSK Consultant Physician to national and International athletes off all levels and sports.
Markus started off his interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine by working in sports and orthopedic centers in Switzeralnd, Germany, the US and the UK, before starting a GP, medical and sports medicine rotation. He received an MD with distiction from Ulm Medical School (Germany) looking into immunology of joints and metal replacements, before qualififying as a GP and Consultant in Gerneral Medicine with a focus on sports and musculoskeletal medicine. He followed his longterm interest in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine by completing an MSc in Sports and Exercsie Medicine at Queen Mary University of London.

Having a keen interest in providing holistic Sports Medicine Care with an interest in MSK Ultrasound, Injection Therapies, Sports Nutrition, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, Markus also has a keen interest in myofacial pain and muscular dysfunction. Markus has worked in the past as a Sports & MSK Physician for the RAF and the England Football Association. Covering the England Senior Mens Futsal Team (one of the fastest growing sports in the world) and part-time U18/U19 & U20 England Football Team he has a passion for working with sports. During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Markus worked as a Sports Medicine Doctor for Swimming, Diving, Waterpolo, Rowing and in the Athletes Village. Markus has also worked at the Aspetar Sports Medicine hospital and provided services to the Football World Cup 2022 in Doha, Qatar.
Next to practical MSK & Sports Medicine he is interested in research and developing new ideas. Currently he is looking into the effects of regenerative treatments in musculoskeletal medicine.
In addition he completed an MBA from Bradford School of Management with distiction with an focus in Innovation Management. Innovation can sometimes be to use the latest research into natural products and treatments, combined with newest technology and medical evidence.
