About me
We all go through difficult times in our lives and experience stressful transitions, traumatic events and significant turning points. During such times, many people find it helpful to turn to a counsellor for support.
Counselling offers a supportive space, unique in that it is free from the agendas and expectations of others which are normal in most social situations.
In the safety of that space we can, together, explore current situations, look forward to the future and process past experiences.
I work in a holistic way which honours body, mind and spirit, giving attention to thoughts and feelings mainly through dialogue. We may also engage with dreams and other creative processes and techniques that help you access your own experience more fully.
Through both support and appropriate challenge, experiential exploration and shared reflection, counselling often opens the way towards easing suffering, (re)discovering the truth of who we are and how we want to live. It can lead us towards a more meaningful experience of life.
have been working in the field of mental health for the last 20 years. I have had vast experience in understanding and treating patients with a range of disorders. As a therapist I have worked in hospital settings, clinics, schools, and private sessions.
I have worked with children as young as 5 and adolescents. I have had experience with families, couples, as well as the elderly.
During my work I have used a variety of theories, as I believe one school of thought would not suit all. I have used CBT, psycho-dynamics, human given, and solution focus.
As I am also a life coach, sometimes I incorporate neuro-linguistic programming, and voice therapy.
My approach is warm and friendly, and I respect individuals, regardless of the challenges they may face. In my work we are usually able to achieve and overcome the challenges and difficulties a client brings into the therapy.
