About me

Dr Simcock is a consultant physician in respiratory and general internal medicine and divides his time equally between the private sector and the NHS. Dr Simcock's NHS practice is based at St Bartholomew's (Bart's) teaching hospital in central London and sees over 200 patients each month with general respiratory problems (such as cough, breathlessness, pneumonia, asthma, COPD, lung cancer and pulmonary embolus). Dr Simcock is the lead clinician for both the Sleep & ventilatory failure unit and respiratory endocosopy service at St Bartholomew's. He has sub-specialist expertise in sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea and chronic respiratory failure due to conditions such as COPD and obesity. He has performed >4,000 endoscopic procedures including bronchoscopy and endo-bronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for the rapid diagnosis and staging of lung cancer and other conditions within the chest such as sarcoidosis, tuberculosis and metastatic cancers.

Dr Simcock is the Clinical Director of Medicine at The King Edward VII's hospital and has been an elected member of the British Thoracic Society Specialist Advisory Group for sleep disorders.

Dr Simcock has presented his original research work worldwide and been the recipient of several national and international awards (including The British Thoracic Society Young Scientist of the year award in 2010). His work is published in leading respiratory journals. Dr Simcock is involved in the selection and training of medical undergraduates and doctors in training. He is an invited reviewer of manuscripts for journal publication and book chapters.

Dr Simcock is a Royal College of Physicians examiner.

Dr Simcock looks after general medical and respiratory private in-patients at The King Edward VII hospital, The London clinic in Harley Street and The Cleveland Clinic London and runs out-patient clinics on each site each week.
